Theme and story
Dragon Lantern is set on the final night of a lunar festival. Red lanterns sway above a riverside market, firecrackers pop in the distance, and somewhere above the rooftops a golden dragon sleeps. Light enough lanterns and it wakes up. Our art direction borrowed from paper-cut craft and festival street photography, keeping the screen warm, gold and busy without becoming cluttered.
How the base game plays
The game uses a classic 5x3 layout with 243 ways to win, so matching symbols on adjacent reels from left to right pay in any position. The Golden Dragon, Red Lantern and Jade Coin are the premium symbols; Firecracker, Lotus, Koi and royals pay less. The Dragon wild appears on reels two, three and four and substitutes for all symbols except the Lantern scatter.
The free spins feature
Three or more Lantern scatters trigger free spins, and you choose how the dragon behaves:
- Ember mode: 15 free spins, multiplier starts at 1x
- Flame mode: 10 free spins, multiplier starts at 2x
- Inferno mode: 6 free spins, multiplier starts at 4x
In every mode the multiplier climbs by one step after each winning spin and never resets during the round. Two or more Lanterns during the feature add extra spins. It is a simple mechanic, but the choice gives players control over how swingy the bonus feels.
The maths, explained simply
Dragon Lantern has a theoretical RTP of 96.5% – if that figure is new to you, read what RTP actually means. It sits in the high-volatility band: about one spin in 3.6 returns something, but most of the game's value lives in free spins, and the 6,000x top win needs a long multiplier run. All three bonus modes share the same RTP; they only change how the result is distributed.
